share the art/love/stuff

Ok, so a friend of mine posted this on Facebook and I said I would play along.  But since most of my friends on Facebook aren't crafty I am breaking the mold and posting on here.  So, who wants to play along???

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made for them by me.

This offer does have some restrictions so please read carefully:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
- What I create will be just for YOU (or with you collectively in mind).
- It will be done this year (2009)(ish).
- It will be something made in the real world and not something over the internet.
- It might be a drawing, a list, a book, a print, a small painting, a trinket, homemade something yummy (cookies!), a mix CD, a found item (that is changed somehow), a sticker collage, a bracelet or an altered garment. (really anything!)

In return, all you need to do is post this text into your blog and make 5 things for 5 other people.

Make sure to comment here that you are in.

Easter and a few more projects

We had a really nice and fairly quiet Easter weekend.  Long weekends don't really change much for us since Wyatt isn't in school and we still have cows to milk twice a day every day.  On Sunday the grandkids met up at Granny and Pa's as the Easter bunny had arrived and left eggs all over the yard.  And for an Easter miracle, the three cousins posed for a photo SO nicely.  I noticed in the photo that for the first time ever Wyatt is the same height as his cousin Alex who is 5 months older than him.  But, I suspect that won't be for long as she will probably have a growth spurt soon.

While the whole Easter egg hunt was going on, Tom's youngest brother Brock decided he needed for whatever reason to jump on the trampoline.   The whole time his Dad is yelling at him that he is going to get hurt, to stop etc.  He had bad ankles and a bad back from sports injuries, so fair enough.  But being 17 and being Brock, he kept going trying to see how high he can go.  Suddenly on one of his bounces, the trampoline (which is probably about 20 years old - it was my sister in laws when she was a kid) breaks at its seam, springs fly everywhere and Brock tumbles to the ground in a pile.   Thank goodness he didn't get hurt, but he got a few "I told you so's" from his Dad and a whole lot of laughs from the rest of us.  Since I had my camera and was right there of course I had to snap a few photos and can already see a scrapbook page of them.  He won't be living this one down for a while!

And for a couple of crafty things, here is a page I did with Making Memories Valentines paper from The Paper Crate.  I also got a Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine for my birthday and was playing around with my scalloped circle Nestabilies (dies) and made a couple of cute cards.  I haven't done too much with it yet, but am looking forward to playing around more.

Loving Crate Paper

I have been loving Crate Paper's recent releases.  I must have done 6 layouts and 3 cards with the Lemon Grass line and now I am totally into the Prudence line.  I don't usually go for such dark colors, but I really like the look of the papers in this line.  Here is one of my little Starbucks fan.

A Couple New Pages

I have been on a roll since I got back from Saskatoon last week.  I even finished a double page layout which is huge for me.  I almost never work with that size spread, so it was definitely a challenge.  I used the paper from the Layout Challenge Kit at Scrappin' Your Way.  I love the paper and wish I had bought some of the other pieces to go along with it.  It is from Fancy Pants Daily Grind line.  The second layout is Rose Moka paper from a line called Pause Cafe.  Seemed fitting for a layout essentially about coffee.

Pretty Pink Fridge Magnets

Ok, so I am a few days late on getting this posted, but still wanted to share them.  I was out to my Craft N Chat group on Friday night.  We were small in numbers (just 4 of us), but had fun anyway. We just put out a bunch of crafty items and played away making a bunch of different fridge magnets.  Not sure if I will put these on my fridge, as I suspect the will end up on the magnet board in my scrap cave.

For supplies - we Prima Flowers and Making Memories buttons for the flowery ones.  Basic Grey Bittersweet paper, unknown pink ribbon and glass beads (the kind you use as a base for candles) for the pink ones, and Making Memories clips plus unknown ribbon for the clip.

New Frame

Here is a new frame I did using one of the 18X18 frames from Cut Your Way.  I am happy with the look of the  finished product, although not with the paint finish.  I used Ranger Crackle Paint and love the color, but the finish is pretty rough and didn't crackle evenly (ie, some sections crackled and others didn't).  Possibly because I was covering such a large area.  As it was fairly rough, the Decor Elements from Stampin' Up didn't adhere very well.  I had to peel one leaf off the Lollipop Flowers.  But I think the rest will stay on ok with the coating of Krylon Triple Thick that I used on it.  I might have to order another set of the words so that I can do another frame up, then maybe sand this one down and start over.  I still have half the Lollipop Flowers left as I cut a pack of white and a pack of brown up into individual stems so I could alternate the colors.
